Please, if you have any reliable sources or serious ideas on if he ever thought about this option or if the Americans were ever scared he would let me know. I'm writing an essay about American occupation and America's choice on Hitohito as the centre of the new democracy and I feel I need to know this detail.

I don't think it would have ever been written down even if Hirohito had thought about harakiri. (Note harakiri is a slang way of saying it used by foreigners. The correct term is seppuku).
You have to remember the role and context of the Emperor at the time was very different. During the 1930's to the end of world war II the Emperor was considered a living god. This was not the case prior to or after this time.
There has been much discussion about how much influence Hirohito had during the war and even if it was possible for him to end the war. _________________ Craig Fryer
