Ume Nomiya Fitzroy Ume Nomiya opened in September 2001 to satisfy those looking for a place to enjoy Japanese alcohol and food. Its a mixture of the old and the new, with heavy wooden furniture and textile hangings mixing with DJs and art exhibitions. The clientele ranges from Fitzroy locals to homesick Japanese and Japanophiles.
The food menu changes every couple of weeks and offers customers a range of snacks and mains you're not likely to find on other Japanese menus around town. The brief to the chef: cheap, tasty and interesting. Go to the kitchen page on the website to see the current menu.
In addition to the food and regular DJs, Ume is well-known for its cocktails. And every Sunday you can buy Sapporo Black Label beer 2 for 1
Opening Hours: Tuesday-Sunday 6pm-1am Kitchen until 10pm. Functions welcome!
