Aka Tombo Prahran Aka Tombo is a sushi bar squeezed into the eastern end of Grevelle Street. This sushi bar has a very Japanese feel about it, but it is a bit of tight fit with small tables and many people sitting along the bar itself. Both the chefs were Japanese and most of the waiting staff also appeared to be Japanese. Unfortunately, I would not consider the service to be up to the typically high Japanese standards, with the service and delivery of the meals being quite slow. The menu was very limited and while the quality of the ingredients were very good, the servings were very small for the prices.
Aka Tombo is very busy on Friday and Saturday nights, so a booking would seem essential. sushi bar.
