NARITA AIRPORT ATM

Narita Airport ATM - Narita Airport ATM accepting international ATM cards. Location of ATM at Narita Airport.

There are now several ATM at Narita Airport that accept ATM cards from foreign (non-Japanese) banks. Withdrawing cash from these ATM is normally the most convenient and cost effective way to exchange money in Japan. While there are money exchange providers at Narita Airport, they are not at all common in the rest of Japan.

Location of Narita Airport ATM

  • CitiBank - South Wing 4th Floor (Departures)
  • CitiBank - Central Building 1st Floor (Arrivals)
  • CitiBank - North Wing 1st Floor (Arrivals)
  • Seven Bank - Central Building 1st Floor (Arrivals)

Exchanging Money In Japan

Most banks in Japan can exchange only US dollars or Euro to Yen and back again. A few banks in central Tokyo could exchange Australian dollars to Yen, but the process is very slow and the fees are very high. Unfortunately almost none of the Japanese banks ATM will accept ATM cards issued by foreign banks. There is one major exception to this rule, Seven Bank. Seven Bank is part of the Seven Eleven chain of convenience stores, which seem to be on every corner in the major cities in Japan. Every Seven Eleven store has at least one ATM in it and they all accept ATM cards issued by foreign banks.
