MANGYOJI TEMPLE

Mangyoji Temple (Fukuoka) was established in 1529.

Mangyoji Temple belongs to the Shin-sect of the Nishihonganji school. This temple was established by Shoku, a disciple of Ren-nyo, in 1529. There is a tomb of the nun, Meigetsu, who in her youth used to be a well known prostitute in the town of Hakata.
