Universal Studios Japan is one of three Universal Studios theme parks, this one being located in the Konohana waterfront district of the resently redeveloped Osaka Bay Area of  Osaka, otherwise known as Universal City. Universal Studios Japan is similar to Universal Orlando Resort, containing many of the same rides. Universal Studios Japan opened on March 31, 2001
